Florescence 2023, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
April 26 and 27 the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston hosted Florescence, a major flower design show and competition cosponsored by The Garden Club of America, Houston Garden Club, and River Oaks Garden Club of Houston. This show has been on hiatus since 2019 because of COVID, so it was quite exciting to have it return.
This was my first time attending, and I was so impressed with the exotic floral arrangements and the over-the-top creativity with natural materials. They had competitions in several categories that I couldn’t quite make sense of, so you’ll see several 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. They are all winners in my book.
